Shooter identified in Minneapolis Catholic school attack that left 2 dead, 17 injured

A mass shooting occurred at Annunciation Church and Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis on Wednesday morning, resulting in the deaths of two children and injuries to 17 others, including 14 children. The shooter, identified as 23-year-old Robin Westman, was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police Chief Brian O'Hara described the attack as a deliberate act of violence against innocent children and worshippers. The shooting took place just before 8:30 a.m. local time, with Westman firing through the church windows from outside. The victims ranged in age from six to 15 years old, with three adults in their 80s also injured. Westman was armed with a rifle, shotgun, and pistol. Minnesota officials, including Governor Tim Walz and Mayor Jacob Frey, expressed shock and grief over the tragedy. President Trump also commented on the incident, offering prayers for those involved. Several hospitals in Minneapolis are treating the injured, with some patients in critical condition.
