Eleven people killed in three more strikes on suspected ‘narco-terrorist’ vessels

The U.S. military's Southern Command conducted three strikes against suspected narco-terrorist vessels in the Eastern Pacific and Caribbean Sea. These operations, part of Operation Southern Spear and authorized by Gen. Francis L. Donovan, resulted in the deaths of eleven male narco-terrorists. No U.S. military personnel were harmed during these actions. These strikes mark the third, fourth, and fifth such operations in February and the sixth in 2026, bringing the total known strikes in Operation Southern Spear to 42 with at least 144 known victims. Launched in 2025 at President Donald Trump's request, Operation Southern Spear aims to bolster security and stability in the Western Hemisphere by disrupting transnational criminal networks. The operation enhances maritime awareness, supports regional stability, and prevents illicit activities from reaching the U.S. homeland. The first strikes under this operation occurred on September 2, 2025, in the Caribbean Sea. The Department of Defense is committed to maintaining a secure hemisphere through these efforts.
